1. JiBeJib does not hold or guarantee your money

Every payment on JiBeJib goes directly from one trader's account to the other's. JiBeJib never receives, holds or sends money, does not insure deals and cannot reimburse a loss. Read this before your first deal.

2. Your counterparty may not pay as agreed

The person you trade with may pay late, pay less, pay from an account that is not theirs, or not pay at all. In a deal where you pay first, you carry that risk until the other side's payment arrives.

3. Receipts can be faked

A screenshot or receipt shows only that someone says they paid. Receipts can be edited or made up. Confirm a payment only when you see the money in your own account, never because of a receipt or a message.

4. Banks can delay, reverse or freeze payments

  • Transfers can take hours or days, and some can be reversed after they arrive.
  • Banks may ask about, hold or refuse payments, and may restrict accounts they link to currency exchange between people.
  • Your bank or payment provider may charge fees and use its own exchange rate.

5. The law where you live

Currency controls, sanctions and tax rules differ from country to country and can change. Breaking them can lead to frozen accounts, fines or worse. You alone are responsible for knowing whether, and how, you may exchange currency where you live and with the person you trade with.

6. Rates move

The rates shown on JiBeJib are indicative and can be out of date. A deal's rate is fixed when the bid is accepted, but the market can move while the deal is being settled, and you may get a better or worse rate elsewhere.

7. A verified identity is not a safe payment

Identity verification confirms who someone is. It says nothing about whether they will pay. Trust figures describe past deals, with their base and period, and do not predict the next one.

8. The service can be interrupted

JiBeJib can be slow or unavailable at times. Deadlines are set by the order's terms, so plan your payments with time to spare and keep your own records.

9. How to lower your risk

  • Start with small amounts with someone new.
  • Check trust figures and their base, not just the verified badge.
  • Keep the deal, its chat and its evidence on JiBeJib. Outside JiBeJib we have no records and cannot help.
  • Confirm only money you can see in your own account.
  • Open a case as soon as something looks wrong.
